   El Jadida is a port city on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, in the province of El Jadida. The city’s appearance is a beautiful and unique architectural mixture of Moorish-Portuguese-French influence.

  El Jadida has a beautiful and long coast line that attracts over 10  million visitors from around the world each year. It has a population of 144,440 (2004 census) and is the port for Marrakech and other Moroccan cities.

for those who wish to make a reservation, they must pay an amount of 240 dhs which includes the three nights in a bungalow which has a capacity of 5 people.

Possibility to reserve a night or two at 80 DH per night.

Things to Do in El Jadida

Here are some of the places that you will enjoy in El Jadida:    

  •   Portuguese Cistern

Constructed in 1514, the Portuguese Cistern was a warehouse and it was later converted to provide a reliable water source for the fortress’ inhabitants.

Nowadays, visitors can enjoy the space in the cistern, supported by 25 graceful pillars.

  •  The Fortress of Mazagan

 

Being the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, The Fortress of Mazagan is the oldest district in El Jadida and is the original Portuguese city. 

 The fortress’s star-shaped ramparts are splendid, 26 feet (8 meters) in height, and 33 feet (10 meters) in width. The main entrance of the fortress is off Place Mohammed Ben Abdallah.
